Consulting

Hydroworks has industry leading capabilities in the following areas:

  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) as a tool for optimising turbine efficiency and cavitation performance.
  • Mechanical design using the latest solid modelling software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Hydraulic transient (water-hammer) modelling, e.g. FIR reserves response and islanded operation.
  • Thermodynamic efficiency testing.

Hydroworks has extensive experience with the mechanical and hydraulic design of new hydroelectric schemes up to about 20 MW, as well as the refurbishment and upgrading of existing schemes.

If required, we can also assist with:

  • Hydraulic design of intake structures such as gates, screens and weirs.
  • Hydraulic design of penstocks and canals.
